Long long ago, in ancient times, humans lived a very different life than the one we live today. Technology, medicine, and inventions were not as advanced as they are today. Life was simple, people lived in tribes, and life revolved around survival.
2. Social Structure
In ancient times, social class played an important role in the lives of people, just as it does today. The ruler, chief or king, was at the top of the social hierarchy, followed by warriors and priests, who were highly respected. Farmers and artisans were next, while slaves were at the bottom of the social order.
Religion was an integral part of ancient times. People believed in supernatural powers and worshipped gods and goddesses. They did not understand natural phenomena like earthquakes and thunder, so they attributed such events to the anger or moods of the gods. Religion played a significant role in daily life, as people believed that their fortunes and misfortunes were in the hands of the gods.
4. Food and Agriculture
During ancient times, people depended on agriculture for their survival. They cultivated crops such as barley, wheat, and rice, and domesticated animals like cows, goats, and sheep. Hunting and fishing were also a source of food for many people.
In ancient times, disease was rampant and life expectancy was low. People relied on herbs and natural remedies to treat illnesses. They had little understanding of diseases, and often believed that diseases resulted from evil spirits or sins. Surgery was primitive and only done in extreme cases.
Education was not a priority in ancient times. Children learned from their parents or through practical experience. The rich and powerful sometimes had tutors or attended schools, but education was not available to the masses.
Ancient architecture was impressive, considering the limited technology and tools available at that time. Buildings were constructed from stone, mud, and wood, and often decorated with intricate carvings and murals. Examples include the Pyramids of Giza, Stonehenge, and the temples of Athens.
Long long ago, human life was very different from what we know today. Despite the lack of technology and modern advancements, ancient humans were able to survive, flourish, and create a rich cultural and historical legacy that we still study and admire today.
